The 1950 Desert Inn (left) and the 2006 Red Rock Hotel (right). There are similarities in the architectural design
of both of these hotels. Red Rock repeats the third floor observation tower, of the Desert Inn, having them at the east,
center & west entrances. Both hotels were & will be prototypes for modern Southwest United States suburban design.

The 1950's Desert Inn presented 24 hour/365 days of Sunset Magazine quality design and hospitality.
From the 50s thru 70s, the DI was the prototype-template for Swimming Pool Culture & Backyard Architecture
across the west - showcasing the first curved (non-square) pool in Las Vegas to visiting designers who would later
incorporate the style of the Desert Inn into their hometown's local architecture - in pool & residential design, as well
as in small motels, and shopping and professional centers built throught-out Arizona, Central & South California & Hawaii.
